Our Discovery Centre has a fantastic collection of quality
literature for the NVSS community to access. Our collections include picture
books, easy chapter books, novels, non-fiction and reference books. We have a
wide range of puzzles, games and activities for children to play with during
first and second breaks.
Students have the opportunity to visit the Discovery Centre
with their class each week. We are also open for borrowing before school and
during both breaks. Students MUST have a library bag or suitable folder in
order to borrow. Library bags may be homemade (not plastic shopping bags) or
may be purchased from the uniform shop.
Students are allowed to borrow one book at a time for a
period of two weeks, although we encourage students to change their book each
week during their class visit. Overdue
notices are sent via email to the class teacher.
Book Week celebrations are a highlight of Term 3. Everyone
dresses up as a book character and classes engage in activities related to the
Children’s Book Council of Australia Short-Listed books.
