Responsible Behaviour Plan for Students

Norfolk Village State School is committed to providing a safe, respectful and disciplined learning environment for students and staff, where students have opportunities to engage in quality learning experiences and acquire values supportive of their lifelong wellbeing.

Our Responsible Behaviour Plan outlines our system for facilitating positive behaviours, preventing problem behaviours and responding to unacceptable behaviours.  Our school community has identified the following school rules to teach and promote our high standards of responsible behaviour - I am Safe, I am a Learner and I am Respectful.

Gifted and Talented Students

As a school we work collaboratively with a cluster of local schools to review our policy for Gifted and Talented students.  We are committed in providing a personalised learning environment for our students differentiating the curriculum and or teaching pedagogy where appropriate.  Identified students can also be offered a range of extra-curricular activities to further enhance their learning strengths.

Students with Disabilities

The Special Education team at Norfolk Village State School works collaboratively with class teachers to support students who have been identified in accordance with the Department's verification process in one or more of the following six areas: intellectual impairment, speech language impairment, autistic spectrum disorder, hearing impairment, physical impairment and visual impairment.  Our goal as a school is to provide support and adjustments within the classroom context where appropriate.

Norfolk Village State School is an inclusive learning environment for all students.
